Rockport Fishing Community and Club Rules
- The tournament is open to all anglers
- Official tournament hours are 30 minutes prior to sunrise until 3PM on the day of the tournament, rain or shine.
- Official weigh-in starts at 3:00 PM and ends at 4:00 PM. The day of the tournament is at Rock Bottom Park and Pub at 507 S. Austin St. ALL ANGLERS MUST BE IN LINE BY 4:00 PM.
- Boat, kayak, wade, bank, surf, jetties, pier, or any legal means of fishing is permissible; However, NO SAIL LINES, GIGGING, BOW AND ARROW, or TROTLINES are permitted.
- Saltwater tournament. There are No fishing boundaries. Fish MUST be caught in public saltwater.
- This is an individual or team (limit 4 to a team) tournament. Heaviest stringer is 2 slot size Red Drum.
***Teams must fish together! If wading or fishing from shore, team members must be within sight of each other.
**If kayaking, teams must enter the same launch area together. Fish as a TEAM! You can get to your location by different boats, but fish within sight of each other (exception is kayaks which must launch together).
- In the case of a tie, winner will be decided by time weighed in.
- Teams must check in together and must all be present to win. Failure to do so will DQ your team from weighing in and receiving awards.
Eligibility:
- All anglers 17 and older must have a valid Texas fishing license.
- All state and federal penal code and game laws shall apply at all times.
- All Texas, Coast Guard, and State Parks and Wildlife regulations shall apply at all times.
Each angler must be registered as an entrant of the tournament and abide by all tournament rules and regulations.
Weigh-in/Sportsmanship:
- All anglers must be in line by 4:00 PM (TEAMS MUST CHECK IN TOGETHER AND MUST ALL BE PRESENT TO WIN)
- No oversized or undersized Redfish.
- All fish weighed in and entered must be caught during official tournament hours on the day of the tournament.
- All fish must be weighed in by the original angler who caught the fish and must be in that person’s physical possession at the time of weigh-in. (In individual ice chest or individual stringer in shared ice chest)
- Sportsmanship, courtesy, safety and conservation are expected from all entrants.
- Only fish to be weighed in must be in the weigh-in area.
- Any entrants found in violation of tournament rules and regulation will be subject to disqualification from the tournament and all future RFCC tournaments.
- ALL DECISIONS MADE BY THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR ARE FINAL
Prizes:
- 1st Place String – 50% of the pot
- 2nd Place String – 30% of the pot
- 3rd Place String - 20% of the pot
($35 of entry will be used for the cash pot and $5 for angler raffles/administrative costs)
Side Pots are winner takes all – 100% of the pot
** For the BlackJack Redfish, it must be on the money exactly and will be the first one turned in.
** Spot Pot must be a Redfish and more than 2 spots.
** Heaviest Flounder and Heaviest Hardhead will be based on weight. In the case of a tie, winner will be decided by the first fish weighed in.
**All side pots without a winner will roll to the next tournament in the series.
Raffles:
Each contestant who comes to weigh-in will receive one (1) free raffle ticket for some great prizes. Additional tickets will be available for purchase at the tournament at $5 each. Money collected will go to additional prizes at the next tournament.
